Nigeria National League side, Kogi United Football Club, and Nigeria Women Premier League’s Confluence Queens Football Club have reached an agreement with Nigeria’s leading sportswear manufacturing company, OWU, to become its official kit sponsor.
The kit sponsorship deal was sealed on Wednesday.
At the contract signing ceremony at the Government House, Lokoja, the superintendent of the teams, Mallam Adama described the secured kit sponsorship deal with OWU as a great step forward for football in Kogi state.
Adama said: “We have signed a contract with OWU to provide three-set of kits for Kogi United and Confluence Queens for next season and this is in fulfilment of our plans to restructure and re-position the state-owned clubs.
“We have started already to fulfill the Governor Idris Wada-led administration’s resolved to reform sports in the state.
“It is the dream of his Excellency to have Kogi clubs among the best in the country.
“I believe we have started on the right path as this has never happened before.”
The contract, which is the first of its kind in the history of Kogi State football, will reduce the burden of kitting the teams as OWU will provide three sets for free.
The Chief Executive Officer, OWU Sportswear, Barrister Tunji Brown, while expressing delight on the signed kit partnership deal, said the company was set to give quality service to Kogi United and Confluence Queens next season.
