Nigerian striker, Osaze Odemwingie, has declared himself a possible starter at Norwich City on Saturday, saying it’s high time Stoke broke their away games form.
Odemwingie says he is well on the road to recovery after being forced to miss last weekend’s win over Arsenal with a calf injury
The 32-year-old winger, who had reeled off five successive appearances since his January arrival from Cardiff, said: “I hope to be fit for this weekend.
“Last week, I managed to train on Friday, but maybe it was a bit optimistic to play against Arsenal.
“Before the Arsenal game, we had a meeting about how many points we need to get, so now we hope to start winning away.”
Stoke travel to Carrow Road seeking their first three points on the road since West Ham at the end of August.
Odemwingie, who was speaking at a supporters’ club meet-the-players night at Knypersley Cricket Club, continued: “There is a lot of belief in the team after winning against Arsenal, and it will help us to relax and play better football in our coming games.
“If we can back up the Arsenal performance, especially away from home, then it is happy days for the club, players and fans.
“I watched the Arsenal game with my family. I had the fans close to me and saw how they supported the team.”
Odemwingie says he couldn’t be happier after swapping Cardiff for Stoke in January in a deal which saw Kenwyne Jones move in the opposite direction.
He said: “My friends say I look happy, and I am.
“Since I arrived everything has gone really well, most importantly the results, as and now we want to try to finish in the top 10 if we can.”
But Odemwingie is also wishing former clubs Cardiff and West Brom well as they struggle to pull clear of the bottom three, adding: “There are no hard feelings
