Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, will on Sunday deliver the 10th annual lecture of the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association, Lagos state chapter.
Alhaji Muhammad Buhari, the Chairman of the chapter, said in a statement that the lecture, entitled: “The Journey to Excellence: Making Nigeria a Tertiary Education Hub for Africa,” would hold at Lagoon Resturant, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Lagos.
Buhari said the lecture, slated for 10am on April 5, would be chaired by Prof. Obini Ekpe, a lecturer in the Department of Physics, University of Ebonyi.
Buhari said Oloyede, being a former Vice Chancellor and a renowned educationist, would be able to dissect the challenges and give a roadmap to restoring the lost glory to the education sector.
Others expected to grace the Lecture/Luncheon event are the National President, Prof Wahab Egbewol;, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN); Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, UNIFEMGA BOT Chairman; and Prof. Abubakar Sanusi, the Chief Imam of Obafemi Awolowo University Central Mosque, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Previous guest speakers at the lecture include Prince Bola Ajibola, Malam Nasir El-rufai, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja.
