Two members of the House of Representatives on Thursday defected from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress alongside an Osun State lawmaker, Oluwole Oke, who had earlier announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.
The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and other party chieftains were admitted to the Green Chamber to witness the defections.
The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, announced the notice of defection during plenary session.
The lawmakers: Kabiru Usman and Abdullahi Sani, represent Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya and Karaye/Rogo Federal Constituencies of Kano State respectively.

The lawmakers cited ongoing internal crisis in the NNPP as reason for their defection to the ruling party.
