A Nollywood star, Angela Okorie, on Thursday planted a tree at the Nelson Mandela Garden in Asaba, Delta State in memory of the late icon.
The actress also charged Nigerian leaders to shun corruption and emulate the lifestyle of the former President of South Africa.
The renowned actress further revealed that she is currently working on a video clip to immortalise the late legend, whom she said impacted positively on the lives of the common man.
According to Okorie, the video clip was designed to showcase the legacies and the life of Mandela to the whole world.
She said: “My coming to Asaba today is to reach out people and to encourage them to understand that Mandela was a hero and to also urge all to follow his footprint.
“I feel honoured and bless to be associated with the Mandela legacies and pay my last respect to a great man and I will be happy for the rest of my life.”
Okorie appealed to Nigerians to copy all the lifestyle of Mandela who lived for the poor, defenceless and hopeless in the society.
The movie star noted: “We are praying to God to raise another Mandela in our time.
“I have put together a script already that will show the life style of Madiba to enable people learn from him.
“Though he is no more but his legacies have given us direction to follow.”
Earlier, the Chairman of the Mandela Garden, Dr. Newton Jibuno, a Desert Warrior, who conducted the actress round the garden, said he was delighted that people like her could associate with the legacies of Mandela.
