Nigerian group accuses France of sabotaging Nigeria’s war against Boko Haram

A coalition of some concerned Nigerian statesmen and patriots have alleged that France has not been sincere with the Nigerian Government in the ongoing fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the country, hence total defeat has not been achieved.
They said overwhelming evidence abounds to attest to this conclusion, stressing that the insincerity is a ploy to sabotage and undermine all the efforts of the Nigerian Government to fight the Boko Haram insurgents to a stand still.
Disclosing this on Wednesday at a press conference in Abuja, the leader of the group, referred to as the Concerned Statesmen and Patriots of Nigeria, Prof. Emmanuel Ome, said: “French President Francois Hollande has hosted several summits on Boko Haram only for things to get worse. He would have to prove that these conferences are not used to make our security and intelligence community to share sensitive operational information, which in turn are handed over to the monsters Boko Haram.”
The group leader also expressed concern over the “worrisome pattern that Boko Haram always kidnap expatriates of French origin each time it is broke and the French government will hurry to pay ransom in millions of dollars. This is nothing short of creating a legitimate front to pass money to Boko Haram in the public glare.”
The group also queried why there has been no explanation from the French authority regarding the sighting of its aircrafts across Nigeria’s borders with Cameroon, Chad and Niger on numerous occasions by Internally Displaced Persons and victims of Boko Haram attacks, insinuating that “the pattern has been for the terrorists to stage spectacular attacks after these sightings”.
The group, which consists of some academies and Nigerian professionals, however, appealed to the United Nations to intervene and stop any undue interference and sabotage by France and other foreign interests, stressing: “The damage done to this point has unleashed unthinkable humanitarian crisis that is already a blot on the collective human conscience.”
They also called on the Nigerian government to carry out investigations into the roles of France in the execution of the insurgency war in the country.
