Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves as at March 22, 2012 has been put at $35.233 billion and not $37.534 billion as earlier announced by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The CBN made the clarification on Wednesday in correction of the figure it earlier announced for March 19 to 22, 2012.
According to a statement by the bank’s Director, Reserves Management Department, Lamido A. Yuguda, on the bank’s website, the earlier figure was an error in the computation of the daily external reserve position.
The CBN said in the statement dated March 27, 2012: “We regret to state that there was error in the computation of the daily external reserve position for the four days during the said period.”
