The management of Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna in Niger State on Tuesday said it would name a new Head Coach for the club ahead of the 2014/2015 season on Friday.
Usman Garba, the club’s Team Manager, told the News Agency of Nigeria that three coaches had already been screened for the job.
Garba said: “The club’s Technical Committee has submitted its report and that name of the successful coach will be announced soon.”
Garba said the coaches interviewed included Tunde Abdulraman, Usman Diffo and Abubakar Hassan.
“This is a move that will help in bringing back the club’s glory and returning it to the Nigeria Professional Football League from the present Nigeria National League,” he said.
The Team Manager said the club had also concluded plans to engage the services of five new players for its 2014/2015 campaign.
“We are now waiting for the technical committee people to submit their list,” he said.
NAN reports that Godwin Uwua was the club’s Chief Coach last season and his services were not retained after he could not help the club back to the NPFL.
