Dr. Rukayyatu Gurin has officially taken over as the new Senior Special Assistant to the President on Women Affairs and Administration in the office of Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari.
In a brief reception organised to bid farewell to the outgoing SSA in the office, Dr. Hajo Sani, in the State House on Friday in Abuja, Gurin expressed readiness toward working with the staff of the First Lady’s Office to achieve the objectives of the office.
She also appealed for cooperation and understanding of staff of the office to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
Gurin wished the outgoing SSA a successful tenure in her new assignment as Nigeria’s Ambassador and Permanent delegate to UN Educational and Scientific Organisation in France.
In her remarks, the outgone SSA and current Nigerian Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for giving her the opportunity to serve her country in different capacities.
Sani expressed gratitude to members of staff for the support and cooperation accorded her during her time as SSA in the First Lady’s Office.
She, therefore, urged the staff to extend same support to the new appointee.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Gurin before her appointment was a Director at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru, Jos.
She was at various times a Lecturer at the University of Maiduguri, Deputy Director, National Universities Commission and Baze University, Abuja.
