Naval Rating shot dead in Lagos

A Naval Rating has been shot dead around Ajegunle in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State.

According to available information, some gunmen on Sunday allegedly opened fire on the Nigerian Navy personnel.

The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.

The Superintendent of Police said nobody had been arrested in connection with the killing naval rating.

Hundeyin said the deceased naval officer was until the incident serving at the Lagos Logistics Depot of the Nigerian Navy and his corpse had been deposited at the Nigerian Navy Hospital morgue in Ojo.

He said: “It is true a naval officer was killed.

“Investigation had as started but nobody has been arrested yet.”
