In their quest for survival in the English Premier League this season, Cardiff City has listed Nigerian forward, Peter Osaze Odemwinwie, for this Saturday’s clash against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.
Just as the new EPL entrants is confident of having Osaze in their fold, the Jose Mourinho’s side are expected to parade yet another Nigerian in John Obi Mikel, who had just returned to London after assisting the Super Eagles beat Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia counterparts by 2-1 in Addis Ababa to inch closer to Brazil 2014 finals.
Both Nigerians are pivotal to their various clubs’ campaign, with Mikel gaining confidence in thwarting attacking forays towards Chelsea’s vital areas.
It is also worthy of note that Mikel has finally picked up his scoring boot with his first ever EPL goal for the west London side this season.
Though not favoured to play for the national team, Osaze has also been banging in goals for the Bluebirds since joining the club in August.
Welsh talisman, Craig Bellamy, may again have to settle for a place on the substitutes bench with Odemwingie in good form.
The last time Cardiff City travelled to Stamford Bridge was three years ago in the fifth round of the FA Cup, where Chelsea ran out 4-1 winners.
