The Senate has summoned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to brief it on Thursday over the saga involving Senator Dino Melaye.
The Senate’s decision was sequel to a point of order raised by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who expressed dissatisfaction with “molestation” of Melaye by the Police.
The Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Ibn Na’Allah, who led Senate leadership to the National Hospital, said Melaye has not eaten since he was admitted there on Wednesday.
Meanwhile the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, also on Wednesday revealed how Idris had so far snubbed him on the Melaye saga.
According to Saraki: “I have been calling IGP for the past 48 hours, but unable to reach him to known what is really happening on Senator Melaye’s issue.”
