Seattle Sounders FC has named Obafemi Martins as the club’s Most Valuable Player.
The Nigerian was also won the Golden Boot as top scorer.
Martins followed-up his 2014 team MVP season with another standout campaign, leading the club with 15 goals (ninth in MLS) to accompany his six assists.
Martins finished third in MLS with 0.71 goals-per-game and first in the league with 66.7 per cent shots-on-goal percentage, registering a goal or assist in 15 of his 21 regular season appearances.
His scoring percentage of 35.7 per cent ranked first in MLS, and Martins became the first player in league history to score 15 goals on fewer than 45 shots.
The striker was integral to the club’s late-season resurgence, recording six goals and two assists during Seattle’s eight-match unbeaten run to finish the 2015 regular season.
