Man brutalised as AMCON officials, police engage in forceful eviction

The Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria has been accused of forceful eviction and brutality.
It was gathered that officials of AMCON, assisted by stern looking armed policemen, on Wednesday stormed 30, A-C Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos State to evict all the tenants.
According to reports gathered, AMCON officers allegedly ordered the policemen to brutalise and evict the tenants.
Barrister Chris Obiaka, counsel to the tenants, disclosed that a police officer, whose identity he did not reveal, allegedly used a hammer to hit a young man, until he went into a coma.
According the Obiaka, the young man, whose identity he did not reveal, was rushed to St. Nicholas Hospital on Lagos Island where the doctors demanded for N1 million before treatment will be carried on the patient.
The lawyer further said: “Apart from the young man, other tenants were also insulted and rough handled by law enforcement agents on the order of AMCON officials.”
Scores of tenants were seen salvaging their belongings from being destroyed.
The tenants decried the highhandedness of the officers as they said they had no where to go.
