On December 6, 2019 at about 4:39pm, a complaint was lodged at Bariga Police Station in Lagos State that one Amusa Hammed, 22, of 7, Dassy Castro Street, off Odunsi Street, Bariga defiled a 17-year-old girl (name withheld).
According to the complaint, the girl was taken to Mirabel Center in Ikeja area of the state for medical treatment and forensic examination.
Medical report showed that she was pregnant and had an abortion.
The suspect was arrested by detectives from the Family Support Unit and he confessed to the commission of the crime.
The Nurse who helped him in procuring the abortion was identified.
A statement b y the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, said Detectives are on the trail of the nurse.
Elkanaa said the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspect be charged to Court.
