SS Lazio management has lowered the asking price for Super Eagles vice captain, Ogenyi Onazi, to just €7 million (£5.3 million), about N1,516,828,320 billion.
Recall the Biancocelesti boss, Lotito, had insisted that €8 million was the price tag for the Nigerian after German Bundesliga side, Werder Bremen, had their €700,000 bid rejected.
The development forced Bremen’s Sporting Director, Thomas Eichin, to say: “I know the player, but in January there are many alternatives.”
The midfielder has impressed in Serie A this season and clubs from the Premier League have taken notice.
Everton, Newcastle and Swansea are all monitoring the 23-year-old’s situation as the January transfer window draws to close.
And, according to reports, the Premier League trio have been given a boost as Lazio are willing to sell.
The Italian club have already received an offer of around £6 million from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, but Everton, Newcastle and Swansea are now all expected to bid within the coming days.
