Two critical roads in the South West part of Nigeria: Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Expressway are at present experiencing traffic following loan accidents by two articulated vehicles on them on Sunday.
According to available information, a container loaded with wood fell at KM32+000 on the inward Lagos section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
This has resulted in slow movement of vehicles between BHN and Kara towards Sagamu.
Another trailer was also reported to have fallen off, blocking part of the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Expressway by the construction point at Iyana Ologbo.
A statement by Route Commander Florence Okpe of the Federal Road Safety Corps Public Education Unit on behalf of the Sector Commander, Ogun State Sector Command, said effort is on going for the prompt removal of the container from the road.
Okpe said Julius Berger Plc has been contacted, while FRSC operatives are on ground managing traffic situation
She added: “Motorists are advised to drive cautiously and cooperate with traffic managers to ensure quick removal of the obstruction.”
