The kidnappers of two Ogun State clerics, Hussein AbdulJelil and Ilyas Muhammed Jamiu, have set them free after collecting a ransom of N2.2 million.
The clerics were abducted at Ayetoro, headquarters of Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State on Saturday.
The kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of N15 million.
The brother of one of the victims, Ibrahim Hussein, confirmed the release of the clerics and the amount paid to their abductors.
He said: “They have been released today after we gave them N2.2 million as ransom.
“They initially insisted on N15 million, saying they were two people, but at the end, they agreed to collect N2.2 million from us.”
