Dundee is closing in on a deal for Celtic striker Jonathan Afolabi.
The Dens Park side have already completed the signing of Nicholas Hamilton but want to further bolster their attacking options.
And Dundee have identified Irish striker Afolabi, 20, to do that as they eye a loan from Celtic.
The Republic of Ireland under-21 cap, who had a spell at Dunfermline last season, is set to boost James McPake’s options.
Josh McPake has already thrashed out a season-long loan for Hamilton from Canadian side York 9.
Hamilton, who can play as a winger or striker, moved from Jamaican side Cavalier, but he hasn’t set foot in Canada because of work permit and COVID-19 restrictions.
The 24-year-old will now need to quarantine for two weeks before he can start training with his new teammates at Dens Park.
Hamilton is highly rated and has already been involved in many local training camps for the Jamaican national team.
