Jim Iyke admits beating Uche Maduagwu was for publicity

Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, has admitted that his much publicised fight with Uche Maduagwu was orchestrated for publicity.

The popular Nollywood actor actor made this known during an interview with Chude Jideonwo on the physical fight.

Recall that The Eagle Online in August 2021 reported that Iyke beat Maduagwu for questioning the source of his wealth.

In the video, which went viral, Iyke tracked Maduagwu down and attacked him for the insult on social media.

However, because Iyke had released a movie with a similar storyline, many concluded it was a stunt to promote his movie.

Iyke has now admitted that it was indeed a stunt.

He said he and his team came up with the plan and Maduagwu was contacted and paid well for it.

The actor said he is too “strategic” to “jeopardise” the success of his film by actually getting into a real fight with Maduagwu.

He explained that he understands the thirst Nigerians have for gossip and bad news so he decided to tap into that to promote his movie.
