Some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have raised alarm over plans to discredit the Nigerian judiciary and security agencies by the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The CSOs, Coalition for Peace In Nigeria (COPIN) and Iconoclast Media raised the alarm in a statement issued on Monday, in Abuja.
The statement was signed by the National Coordinator of COPIN, Emeka Akwuobi and the National Secretary of the Iconoclast, Dr. Mayago Mayago.

It said the alarm was to blackmail the Supreme Court and security agencies following a judgement delivered by the apex court on December 15, 2023.
The statement said the Supreme Court had in the judgement, upturned an order of the Court of Appeal dismissing charges of terrorism brought against the IPOB leader by the Federal Government.
According to the statement, apart from quashing the charges preferred against the IPOB leader, the appellate court also ordered his release from detention.
He said: “Barely a month after the development, the CSOs have uncovered plans by Kanu to use some media platforms to draw sympathy and paint the system as being unfair to him.
“The separatist leader has concluded plans to sustain his plea to be moved to a correctional facility, to enable him to have unfettered access to visitors.
“His plot is to present a narrative that he needs medical attention outside his detention facility”.
