Several properties, including hotel, houses, shops and vehicles, are on fire in Awomama, Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.
This followed a revenge mission by Soldiers whose colleague was killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen at Ishieke Junnction.
The Soldiers, who were said to have left after the killing of their colleague, reportedly returned in larger number to avenge the death.
The spokesperson of the 34 Artillery Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Captain Joseph Akuboh, could not be reached for comments as at press time.
