I will reclaim my Senatorial mandate — Sani Musa

The Senator-elect for Niger East Senatorial District, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Musa, has said he will reclaim his mandate at the Supreme Court in the aftermath of the Court of Appeal judgment on Monday which upheld the appeal filed by Senator David Umaru against his nomination by the All Progressives Congress in the just concluded national assembly elections.

It should be recalled that Umaru appealed the Court judgement that sacked him as senatorial candidate for the APC in Niger East Senatorial District.

Musa, who was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission having polled the highest valid votes cast, in a press statement issued in Minna in Tuesday sued for calm among his teeming supporters in Niger State, assuring them that he fittingly won the APC primary election conducted for the senatorial district.

While expressing his dissatisfaction with the appellate court judgment, he said he would see the case to a logical conclusion at the Supreme Court.

According to him: “The Appeal Court ruling today cannot stand; it is a miscarriage of justice and a complete aberration to what justice entails. I have no doubt in my mind that the apex court in the land will right the wrong temporarily done to my mandate by the lower court.”
