Honda set for high growth in Nigeria with THP partnership

Honda Motor Company has announced its goals for the Nigerian market in reaching a sales level of 10,000 units by 2020.
Honda is represented in Nigeria exclusively by THP Limited, part of the multi-billion Stallion Group, one of the largest conglomerates in West Africa.
In a glittering ceremony on Tuesday, Manabu Nishimae, the Chief Operating Officer for Regional Operations (Europe, the Middle & Near East and Africa), said that Honda views Nigeria as a strategic growth market for the brand in the region.
Nishimae also remarked that being the most populous country, Nigeria represents a great potential for growth.
The event was also attended by officials from the Japanese embassy and senior management of THP Limited.
It was also announced that the Honda Motor Company has set up a base in Nigeria through the establishment of its subsidiary, Honda Automobile Western Africa Limited.
Takayuki Yamashita, the Managing Director, Honda Automobile Western Africa Limited, mentioned that Honda wanted to “connect the market with Honda’s global resources and know-how more effectively, and eventually accelerate the expansion of our business in Nigeria”.
Yamashita explained how Honda was committed to deliver “Three Joys”, which represents Honda’s worldwide philosophy.
He said in active partnership with THP Limited, Honda will ensure the customer achieves the “Joy of Buying”.
Honda and THP have set high standards in servicing existing and new customers of Honda, with a view to satisfying customers throughout the ownership period.
Honda would bring in its 50 years of worldwide experience to the fore in ensuring that the best services be provided in Nigeria.
THP is setting up a state of the art facility in Lekki area of Lagos State to boost Honda’s sales and after sales activities, in addition to its existing facilities in the country.
Honda’s products range includes Civic, Accord, CR-V, Pilot, Odyssey, Crosstour and City.
