Gunmen have kidnapped seven foreigners and killed a security guard at the premises of a construction company, Setraco, in Jama’are, Bauchi State.
The gunmen struck early on Sunday morning.
Those kidnapped were a Briton, an Italian, a Greek and four Lebanese.
Among them were two women.
The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Police Command, Mohammed Ladan, said the gunmen attacked a police station and a prison before they struck at Setraco.
Ladan said: “We repelled the attack on police station and the security men at the prison yard also repelled the attack, but they burnt two vehicles in Jama’are Police Station.
“They then attacked Setraco construction, killed a local security guard and they succeeded in kidnapping people.”
