Another Home-based Super Eagles star, Mohammed Gambo of Kano Pillars, is among the three latest nominees for the Glo Premier League Wonder Goals Award.
This is coming on the heels of the nomination of recent Super Eagles call-up, Emem Eduok of Dolphins. who was part of the squad that lost 0-1 to Sudan in an AFCON 2015 qualifier.
The Chief Operating Officer of the League Management Company, Salihu Abubakar, said he has been delighted by the response of fans to the initiative.
“Fans across the country have been taking advantage of the Wonder Goal on-line polling to express their preferences for some of the 2013/14 season’s goals showcased in the series and we promise to continue to engage and excite our players and fans through this and other experience enriching opportunities,” Abubakar said while announcing the latest nominees.
Nominees on the list for the Sixth Wonder Goal Award are Freedom Omofoman of Warri Wolves, Gambo Mohammed of Kano Pillars and Bode Daniel of Crown FC.
Omofoman was nominated for his goal against Akwa United in a Match Day 31 fixture in Warri, Gambo got on the list for his Match Day 6 goal against FC Taraba in Kano, while Daniel has been nominated for his free kick, which was one of the three goals in the defeat of Nasarawa United by Crown at Ibadan.
Glo Premier League fans are invited again to exercise their power to choose the most exciting goal of the three that has been nominated.
It is one of the ways the League Management Company seeks to enhance club-community interaction and bridge the divide between our star players and the people.
The Wonder Goal also projects quality marksmanship that abounds in the Glo Premier League and recognizes the collective effort that made the goals possible.
The player whose goal gets the highest votes from fans voting online, is usually rewarded with N100,000, from which 50 per cent is donated to a charity organization the player will nominate within the location of his club.
You can participate in the voting process via the LMC Twitter handle: @LMCNPFL, or Facebook Page, League Management Company or the website: www.lmc-ng.org, by simply picking what you deem your best goal of the three under review.
