The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has commiserated with the family of the late Chief Adebayo Faleti over the death of the celebrated broadcaster, actor and playwright, who he described him as a highly creative Nigerian who gave his very best to his country through his chosen profession.
Chief Faleti passed on peacefully in his home on Monday.
He was aged 86.
Dr. Fayemi, in a condolence message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Yinka Oyebode, said the late playwright took a glorious bow, after decades of excellent use of the arts to impact many lives.
The Minister described the late Chief Faleti as a thorough bred professional broadcaster, highly creative artiste with fecund imagination and a great promoter of culture who passed very crucial messages to the society through his literary works.
He also recalled the pioneering roles played by the late ace broadcaster at the then Western Nigerian Television and later at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, where he demonstrated his passion for development through broadcasting and literary activities.
He said the late Faleti lived a good life and impacted many lives, hence his transition should be celebrated.
Fayemi said: “Chief Faleti lived an eventful and impactful life. His was a life well spent in the service of humanity and taking a glorious bow from the earthly stage at 86, with such worthy legacies calls for celebration.
“Although we shall still miss his wisdom and wittiness, the children and the entire family should be consoled with the fact he lived and good life and left behind a good name and legacy of honour.”
