Nigeria National League side, Akwa Starlets Football Club of Uyo, has appointed Austin Eguavoen as its coach.
The former coach, Lawrence Kingsley, has been re-deployed to Nationwide League One side, Ibom Youth FC.
Eguavoen, who was with Gombe United last season, Akwa Starlets management believes, will use his wealth of experience to propel the Uyo outfit to gain promotion ticket.
The experienced former Super Eagles manager, it was gathered, has resumed at his new duty post on Monday and was given a mandate of securing promotion for the team at the end of the upcoming season.
Eguavoen said: “I have seen the players.
“They are talented no doubt and all I can do is make them even better and work with them to gain promotion.
“I actually see this as a great move for me.
“This is a hugely ambitious club and I am sure come end of the season when we gain promotion, I would be proved right.”
