A former member of the House of Representatives, Dino Melaiye, has won the Kogi West Senatorial District election.
Melaye, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, outsmarted the incumbent, Senator Smart Adeyemi of the Peoples Democratic Party to clinch the ticket.
While he polled 41,120 votes, Adeyemi’s got 38,148 votes.
The Returning Officer, Ahmed Adaji, announced the result on Monday.
It was also the candidate of the APC, Abdulrahman Abubakar, who won in Kogi East Senatorial District.
Abubakar scored 98,915 votes to defeat the candidate of the PDP, Doko Arome, with 88994 votes.
Emmanuel Egwu of the PDP won the race for Idah Federal Constituency of the state.
