Nigerians were told on Monday to reelect President Goodluck Jonathan on February 14 because of his sterling performance in office.
Former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who spoke at the inauguration of the Ogun State Presidential Campaign Advisory Committee in Abeokuta, contended that Jonathan had done a lot in transforming the country since becoming the president.
The event was held at the Peoples Democratic Party Legacy House in Onikolobo, Abeokuta, the state capital.
According to Daniel, Jonathan had revived the railway system, fixed road infrastructure, developed education and revamped airports in the country to deserve re-election.
Daniel said: “I want to promise you that by the special grace of God, PDP will win this election on February 14.
“You know that I’ve never deceived you.
“President Jonathan is one of the best performing presidents in the history of our country.
“For many years, the train system in Nigeria collapsed.
“It is as if we are now dreaming to find out that railway system in Nigeria has started to work.
“This was made possible by the Goodluck Jonathan administration.”
Members of the committee included Hon. Segun Seriki, who was appointed as State Coordinator; former House of Assembly Speaker, Titi Oseni (Deputy Coordinator); former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Alhaji Sarafa Isola; Senator Lekan Mustapha; Senator Ayodeji Otegbola; Hon. Dave Salako; Dr. Remilekun Bakare; former PDP chairman in the state, Elder Joju Fadairo; Gloria Shoda; and Alhaji Lamidi Odulawa.
