Ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Nigerian Taekwondo practitioner, Chika Uche Chukwumereje, has promised to return with a medal.
The Beijing Olympic bronze medalist said in Lagos that he is working tirelessly to live up to the expectations of Nigerians.
“I am aware that a lot is expected from me and I am working tirelessly to win another Olympic medal during the London 2012 Games,” he said.
Chika, son of the popular Senator Uche Chukwumereje, also expressed optimism that Nigeria will record a good outing in London later this year.
“The preparation has been on and I am optimistic Nigerian athletes will do well. It is the dream of every athlete to win Olympic medal,” he said.
Chukwumereje Junior also advocated the immediate development of sport at the grassroots level so that the country can remain a force to reckon with globally in the nearest future.
