Brighton, Norwich want Troost-Ekong

Brighton and Hove Albion and Norwich City are chasing the signature of William Troost-Ekong.
The 22-year-old defender is familiar to England having come through the Tottenham Hotspur academy but left the North London club back in 2013 and moved to Dutch club, FC Gronigen.
He only made two appearances there however and instead got more experience by going on loan to FC Dordrecht where he made 32 appearances.
He then moved to Belgian club Genk where he was once again loaned out to Norwegian side FK Haugesund.
And now Troost-Ekong could be on the move again after reports suggested that both Norwich and Brighton are interested in signing the defender who currently has six caps for Nigeria.
Norwich’s interest for Troost-Ekong may seem a bit odd right now as they currently have plenty of top quality centre backs such as Timm Klose and Sebastien Bassong and don’t seem to need another.
However this could be a sign that they may be about to lose one of their defenders and are currently scouting potential replacements.
The need for a centre back is more clear for Brighton.
They released their long term centre back Gordon Greer in the summer and Lewis Dunk has been linked with a move to the Premier League, meaning a new centre back is needed for the coming season.
