Nigerian international, Bright Dike, returned from injury with his Toronto FC side in their 4-1 whitewashing by Sporting Kansas City in a Major Soccer League tie at the weekend.
The stocky forward, who was down for six months due to an Achilles tear, was introduced in the 78th minute.
Dike made a decent effort to reduce the deficit but unfortunately his efforts weren’t enough.
The mauling will not be one to remember for the Canadian side but Dike managed to net in his own shoe after a shot from outside the box.
The ball was easily stopped by SKC’s keeper, Jon Kempin, but Dike’s boot ended up inside the goal, which was applauded by the home crowd.
Toronto FC’s Head Coach joked on Dike’s ‘goal’ as he said: “It was good for Bright to get on the score sheet and it was nice for the referee in Kansas City to play on as they saw his boot go into the back of the net.
“That sort of summed up our night, to tell you the truth.”
Before the match, the 27-year-old expressed his excitement to play again after a long time of absence via Twitter.
“Thankful to step into a game after six months of busting my butt to get back, got a little taste, now I only want more,” he twitted.
