Facts have emerged as to why the Twitter account of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo (SAN), went from Verified to Unverified on Friday.
A Verified Twitter account has a Blue Badge.
The blue verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic.
However, on Friday, Prof. Osinbajo’s account went from Verified to Unverified.
Explaining the reason for the development, Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, said it followed attempts to hack into the account b y unscrupulous persons.
Akande said: “Yesterday, there were failed external attempts to gain unauthorized access to the Vice President’s Twitter Account.
“Since, we have been in contact with Twitter, securing the account, and forestalling a reoccurrence.
“The VP will continue to actively communicate with our citizens.”
