The Chief of Defence State, Admiral Ola Ibrahim, a few minutes ago submitted a report to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, on the killing of no fewer than 187 civilians in Baga, Borno State during a clash between members of dreaded sect, Boko Haram, and the Joint Task Force.
The military is still contesting the casualty figure, saying that only 25 members of Boko Haram and six civilians died in the all night shootout in the border town.
A soldier was also reported killed.
Ibrahim, who submitted the report at the State House, Abuja, said: “What we have just concluded here is a formal report from the Defence Headquarters to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the matter of Baga.”
