The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has congratulated the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the occasion of his 60th birthday anniversary.
In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Funmi Wakama, Amosun described Tinubu as a democracy activist who fought for the enthronement of constitutional government in Nigeria.
The governor recalled Tinubu’s sacrifices in exile and struggles for the enthronement of free and fair elections in the country and observed that “but for the doggedness of leaders like Asiwaju, civil rule and ‘one man one vote’ would still have been elusive in the nation today.”
“I felicitate with a worthy national leader of our party, the Action Congress of Nigeria, and credit the new lease of life in the South West today as one of the harvests of Asiwaju’s struggles,” Amosun said.
He wished Tinubu many more years of meritorious service to the nation.
