The All Progressives Congress in Yobe State has suspended 20 of its members, including the Woman Leader and Executives of the party, in three local government areas for insubordination and disloyalty.
A statement issued by the State Secretary of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Bakabe, in Damaturu on Wednesday stressed that the action was “in line with the rules governing the party”.
It added that the 20 members and officials were suspended in order to “instil discipline and loyalty in the party”.
The statement denied claim by the suspended officials that the national secretariat of APC had reversed the decision.
The statement said: “We wish to state categorically and in unequivocal terms that there was no communication whatsoever from the national secretariat lifting the suspension.
“Therefore, the suspension order placed on the erring officials and members still stands and, they remain suspended.”
It advised the affected members to desist from parading themselves as officials and members of the party.
“The general public is advised to avoid transaction with the suspended officials on behalf of the party,” the statement said.
