The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, on Tuesday forwarded the names of nine commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
This is line with the Governor’s determination to put in place a strong team of commissioners, special advisers and other aides to assist him in fulfilling his covenant with the people, according to his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr. Muyideen Akorede.
Akorede, however, stressed that Governor Ahmed will ensure equitable distribution of appointments and projects.
The statement added that although the House is on recess, the list was sent ahead of the Assembly’s resumption to allow sufficient time for its consideration.
It will be recalled that Ahmed recently secured the approval of the House of Assembly to appoint 15 special advisers.
He has so far appointed 14.
