No fewer than 6,000 applicants have applied for 295 vacancies at the headquarters of the North Western District of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Minna, Niger State.
The NRC District Public Relations Officer, Sheriff Razaq, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna.
Rasaq said that the district would shortlist the names of qualified candidates soon while the date of the interview would be communicated to them.
“We have received a total of 6,000 applications for 295 job vacancies advertised,” he said.
The spokesman said successful candidates in the interview would work in the three states of Niger, Kaduna and Kwara, which were all under the district.
Razaq said out of the 295 vacancies, the Operations and Commercial Department of the corporation would absorb 82 new staff with a minimum qualification of secondary school certificate and maximum qualification of National Diploma.
He said the Administrative Department of the corporation would employ 10 new staff with minimum of secondary school certificate and maximum of National Diploma certificate as qualifications.
The Signal and Telecommunications Department would also absorb 28 new workers with minimum of Trade Test and maximum of National Diploma as qualifications.
Razaq said the Mechanical Engineering Department of the corporation would get 15 new staff with minimum qualification of Trade Test and maximum qualification of National Diploma certificates.
He also said that the Civil Engineering Department would engage 160 new staff with minimum qualification of primary school certificate and maximum qualification of secondary school certificate.
