No clue yet as to whereabout of abducted Lagos secondary school students

Confusion was the word on Tuesday as security agencies in Lagos State could not find a clue as to the location of the three students of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary in Lagos State abducted from their school.
Operatives of both the police and the Department of State Services, led by the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoyemi, failed to locate the students who were abducted on Monday night.
The students were taken away in the midst of their colleagues as they observed prep after dinner.
It was said to be about 8pm.
Worried parents who thronged the school waited in vain as there was no clue as to the location of the kidnappers and the kidnapped.
What appeared to be a ray of hope late evening on Tuesday soon fizzled into hopelessness.
There was news across the city that the students had been located and their abductors killed.
It was followed by the fact that the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police in the state, Oladapo Badmus, was going to issue a statement confirming the release of the students and the killing of their abductors.
But none of such happened.
Owoseni in a telephone chat late on Tuesday evening, said security operatives were still in intense search for the students.
He said there was no giving up until the students were found and handed over to their parents.
At the premises of the school, worried parents milled around until late in the evening.
A statement by the Lagos State Government said the state was providing support for security operatives to rescue the students.
The Commissioner for Information, Steve Ayorinde, said the state government was hopeful the students would be found and rescued.
