The police in Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday arraigned one 57-year-old Ademola Afolabi, who allegedly caused damage to N6 million plantations.
Afolabi, whose address was not provided, is charged with conspiracy, malicious damage and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Tellang, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in August at Aba-Odun, Ayegun Oleyo, Ibadan.
Tellang alleged that Afolabi and others at large conspired to willfully and unlawfully damage plantain, cocoyam and cassava plantations worth N6 million.

He said that the plantations belonged to Olaitan Oyeleye, the complainant.
He added that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by destroying the plantations.
According to him, the offences contravene Sections 517, 451 and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, M. Olagbenro, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
Olagbenro adjourned the case until October 12 for hearing.
