The Senate on Thursday passed its second bill in the eighth assembly.
Known as the Electronic Transactions Bill 2015, it is with the objective to curtail cyber crimes.
The Eighth National Assembly was inaugurated on June 9, 2015.
The first bill passed by the Senate, according to Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, was a supplementary budget.
Ndume said: “If implemented, Nigeria has a Bill to regulate e-commerce.
“With the electronic transaction law, we can provide protection for electronic communication.
“The rights of individuals will also be protected.
“Additionally, illegal activities like hacking and the intentional spreading of viruses will be regulated.”
