West Bromwich Albion have reignited interest in Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, after their takeover by a Chinese investment group.
Yunyi Guokai (Shanghai) Sports Development Limited group are expected to make significant funds available to Albion head coach, Tony Pulis, and have given their backing to a bid for Ighalo.
The Hornets reportedly turned down a £37.5 million bid from Shanghai SIPG for the striker last summer and were rewarded when the Nigerian hit 15 goals in his first season in the Premier League.
But, following the addition of Isaac Success from Granada, there have been suggestions that Watford would be willing to listen to offers for Ighalo this year.
The 27-year-old scored in Saturday’s friendly draw at home to Lorient and is set to lead the attack alongside Troy Deeney at Southampton in this weekend’s Premier League opener.
