Players of the Super Eagles have resumed training in earnest for the back to back 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.
The team resumed training under the tutelage of newly-appointed Coach Finidi George in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Videos and images on Sunday showed the players and officials arriving and during training at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, also known as The Nest of Champions.
Players who trained over the weekend included goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Leicester City duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho and AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze.
Others included Turkey-based Fisayo Dele Bashiru and Ibrahim Olawoyin and home-based Olorunleke Ojo, Sodiq Ismail and Kenneth Igboke, and Tanzania-based defender Benjamin Tanimu.
The Super Eagles will welcome South Africa to Uyo on June 7, before the encounter with Benin Republic three days later in Cote d’Ivoire.
