African Champions, the Super Falcons, returned to the country on Sunday after winning the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations for record eighth time in Cameroon.
The Florence Omagbemi girls stopped over in Lagos before connecting another flight to Abuja.
Meanwhile, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has promised the technical crew training overseas.
Pinnick expressed gratitude to the team for doing the country proud in Cameroon.
Pinnick said in spite of very tough times being faced by the country, the federation had been able to live up to its responsibilities to the team by providing them with good accommodation, feeding and local transportation.
He said: “You are our pride and by Gods special grace, we will offset all we owe you. Eight-time champions of the African Women’s Championship is not a joke. We cannot reward you enough.
“We will interface with clubs in Europe and we will send the female coaches on internship.”
