After winning three Man of the Match awards back to back, CHAN Super Eagles talisman, Ejike Uzoenyi, is now known as double three by teammates, even as he says he did not win the awards alone but with the support of his mates.
He said: “It’s like am still dreaming because when we were down by 3-0, it was like the world has ended and finally we started to come back and many said it may be impossible but see what God has done.”
He added in local parlance: “Na God ooo.
“No be man.”
Uzoenyi said while he gave the last award to his little son, who was four years old the day Nigeria defeated Bafana Bafana 3-1, he was dedicating the latest award to God.
He said: “If not for God, how can a team recover from 3-0 to come back and win 4-3?
“It was only God that did it and I want Nigerians to hold fast to Him for the betterment of their lives.”
