The Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association, Ibadan, Oyo State Chapter and Bodija Muslim Youth Forum will on Sunday hold the annual picnic to herald the new Islamic year, Hijrah 1439 A.H.
A statement by the UNIFEMGA Public Relations Officer, Abdulfattah Alade, stated that the occasion will hold at the Trans Amusement Park, Agbowo, Ibadan.
Alade said the programme will also be used to hold reception for members who just returned from Holy pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah.
He said a lecture on the significance of Hijrah in Islam will be anchored by an Ibadan-based Islamic scholar amidst other social and interactive programmes lined up for the day.
In a similar statement, BOMYOF Chairman, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said the Forum is collaborating with UNIFEMGA in line with the group’s aims and objectives.
Balogun said: “It coincides with our philosophy of inculcating in the youths the pristine Islam and an opportunity for them to cross-fertilise ideas and interact with other youths within the Islamic environment.”
