Two men – Mangut Dakwan, 35, and Magit Manesseh, 25 – were in the wee hours of Friday (today) shot dead in Riyas Village, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
Sources in Jos, the Plateau State capital, told The Eagle Online that the gunmen, who are suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in the village, started shooting sporadically at about 12:30am.
In the process, Dakwan and Manasseh died.
They both belong to the vigilante group in the village.
The member representing Bokkos State Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Titus Ayuba Alams, confirmed the killing.
Alams described the development as unfortunate.
He said the gunmen were heavily armed.
He equally said he has a feeling the gunmen were Fulani herdsmen.
