Traffic gridlock as another truck crashes on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Traffic is said to have built up on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as another truck crashed on the road shortly after midday.
The truck, reported to be fuel laden, crashed shortly after the camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God on the Lagos-Ibadan end of the road.
According to a traffic alert by the Federal Road Safety Commission, traffic had to be diverted to the Ibadan-Lagos carriageway after the RCCG camp.
The tanker, with registration XE 545 LRN, was said to have spilled its content on the road.
The FRSC said there was no casualty, adding: Traffic is heavy and there is a congestion around the scene.
“Motorists from Lagos are advised to go through the alternative route Mowe-Ofada-Papalanto and come back to the express road through the Shagamu interchange.
“Those from Ibadan axis should divert from the Shagamu Interchange to Papalanto-Ofada-Mowe.
“Our men and fire service men are on ground to sort out the traffic issues.
“Motorists are advised to be patient and cautious please.”
