The Zamfara Chapter of the Nigeria Rescue Movement has said it will not participate in the governorship and state assembly elections slated for March 9.

Senator Saidu Dansadau, Governoship candidate of the National Rescue Movement for Zamfara, on Sunday launched his campaign with a promise to rescue the state from insecurity.
Alhaji, who was elected at the party’s convention held in Abuja, emerged as the presidential flag bearer with a pledge to enhance food security and employment for youths.
The National Rescue Movement, a registered political party, has said that it would adopt direct primaries to elect its flag bearers in the 2019 general elections.
Dansadau told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Maiduguri that state governors in the region must put up effective leadership and provide good governance to address spate of insecurity bedeviling the region.
A former member of the National Assembly, Senator Saidu Dansadau, has urged the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in Zamfara over incessant killings in the state.
